About this Event
Feel like students just can’t seem to make it through a full lecture anymore? You’re not imagining it. Students are changing, and the way they engage with learning is changing too!
This three-part series is all about adapting to today’s learners through small, realistic changes that get students thinking, talking, practicing, and actively participating without completely redesigning your course.
We encourage you to attend all three sessions so you can build on what you learn and make progress throughout the series. However, we know schedules are busy! If you can’t make all three, you’re still welcome to attend the sessions that work for you. (This training is help in person on the downtown campus)
Session 1: Break Up the Lecture (Oct 12 2:30pm)
Learn simple ways to break up lecture time and get students thinking, discussing, practicing, and applying what they’re learning.
Session 2: Tech It Up! (Oct 26 2:30pm)
Explore technology tools and strategies that make lessons more interactive, encourage participation, and help you quickly check for understanding.
Session 3: Active Learning Without the Extra Work (Nov 9 2:30)
Active learning doesn’t have to mean hours of prep! We’ll explore easy, low-prep strategies you can use in almost any classroom, sometimes with little more than a question, a sticky note, or a few minutes of class time
