What if looking at art were like tasting food?
You know whether you love chocolate, citrus or spice. But do you know why you love one painting and feel absolutely nothing for another?
Just like cooking, art has its own ingredients: line, shape, form, colour, light and shadow, texture, and composition. And just as our taste buds respond differently to different flavours, we each respond differently to the elements of art.

This is not your typical art history lecture. Through quizzes, playful challenges, creative activities and surprising stories, we'll explore the seven essential ingredients that shape the way we see and experience art.
Expect historical secrets, stories of propaganda, intimate anecdotes and a few surprises along the way. Join in as much or as little as you like! There's no pressure to participate.
Whether you sometimes feel lost in museums or already spend hours admiring paintings, you'll discover new ways to look at artworks ... and perhaps understand why certain works speak to you while others leave you cold.
No art history degree required. Just curiosity and an appetite for discovery.

I'm Jeanne, an international art educator, designer and art historian. Having lived in eight countries, I love bringing art to life through unexpected stories, creative ideas and an accessible, engaging approach.

Just yourself and a curious mind! A notebook and pen are welcome if you'd like to take notes, but they're absolutely not necessary.
