About the eventACTION FOR ACTORS
Led by Justin Parks & Branden Smith
A Certified Apprentice Training for the Missouri Film Tax Credit
Action for Actors is a hands-on, industry-focused workshop designed to prepare actors for the physical demands of film and television action while teaching the safety, awareness, and professional skills required to perform confidently on set.
The workshop is led by Justin Parks and Branden Smith, experienced stunt professionals who bring real-world film and television experience directly into the classroom. Their goal is to bridge the gap between acting and action by teaching performers how to approach physical scenes with the mindset of a professional stunt performer while still delivering a believable character performance.
Justin Parks is a professional stunt performer and stunt coordinator with experience working across major film and television productions. His work has included projects such as Reservation Dogs, Tulsa King, Twisters, The Lowdown, Chicago Med and numerous feature films & TV shows. Justin created Action for Actors after seeing the need for actors to receive practical, professional-level action training before stepping onto a film set.
Branden Smith brings his own extensive experience in stunt performance, fight choreography, physical performance, and on-set safety to the program. Together, Justin and Branden provide actors with an environment where they can develop practical skills while understanding how action is actually created and executed in professional production.

Action for Actors isn’t about turning actors into stunt performers. It’s about giving actors the knowledge and confidence to safely perform, understand, and sell action when the role demands it.
Justin and Branden created the workshop with one core belief: the better prepared an actor is for action, the safer the set becomes and the more believable the performance can be.
By combining acting, stunt fundamentals, choreography, and professional set knowledge, Action for Actors gives performers practical experience they can take directly into the film and television industry.
