About This EventACHIEVE's Leadership by Extreme Ownership Conference is a transformative leadership development event designed to empower business leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals across all sectors with practical strategies for leading through challenges, building high-performing teams, and achieving meaningful results.
Hosted by ACHIEVE and featuring Carlos Mendez of Echelon Front, the conference will introduce attendees to the battlefield-tested leadership principles developed and applied by Echelon Front. Drawing on lessons learned in some of the world's most demanding environments, the event will demonstrate how the fundamentals of effective leadership can be applied far beyond the battlefield — including in business, organizational management, and everyday professional decision-making.

OUR SPEAKER:
Carlos Mendez is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL whom over a 21-year career, served at multiple SEAL Teams, holding roles such as medic, primary sniper, point man, and team leader. Carlos completed deployments to Southeast Asia, Central America, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He also served under Jocko Willink as the lead instructor for Close Quarter Combat training for all West Coast SEAL Teams. His final role in the Navy was as the Executive Officer of the Training Detachment, responsible for training all West Coast SEALs in leadership, strategy, and tactics.
After retiring from the military, Carlos became an Investment Banker, working on M&A transactions, as well as leveraged buyouts with Financial Sponsors. Carlos then moved on as the Head of Strategy & GP Advisory at an alternative investment firm, where he used his leadership expertise to partner with the CEOs of their portfolio companies to accelerate the growth stage of their businesses. Carlos is now currently the President of a construction plumbing company.
Carlos holds a BBA in Finance from the University of San Diego and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
