Hi, My name is John, better know to a lot of you as DJ Kagamine. I've been coming to ACEN since 2009 and haven't stopped since. This is my community and if all else fails, I come home every year. But the community seems lost and unguided sometimes and well, this year was no different and we (as a collective) trashed the hotel outdoor space once again. So next year, i'm organizing this, not for myself but for our community. The Hotel has often fought us for use of the outside smokers circle for our late night shenanigans but after we trashed the place, we all woke up to garbage all over the place. Now the argument is "the hotel will clean up", yes, that is true, BUT this is outside of their normal scope. If we want the Hyatt to allow us to use said space how we use it, we should be able to show them we can be responsible for one another and hold ourselves accountable. So, here's what i'm proposing, in between packing your car and breakfast, i'm hoping to get a few volunteers to help clean up what we destroyed. If about 20 people show up and take 10 minutes to clean up, this would be done quick and hotel is appreciative of us. and when I say clean up, were just picking up trash and not taking care of BIOHAZARD things.
I will be investing in PPE, tools and trash bags out of my own pocket for this.
I will also be writing a proposal to MAPS and the Hyatt for support for this as well.
Again, this is 100% volunteer. We're always saying, "we can do better," or "we should do better."
