This event will explore upcoming carbon reporting legislation.
About this Event

Join this event to hear from Eoin McQuone, Chief Carbon Coach at Go Climate Positive, who will explain the upcoming legislation on carbon reporting, why accounting for climate change matters and what you can do to make a start both personally and professionally.

With the publication of the UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS) in February, now is the time to get to grips with climate action reporting which will start to become mandatory from January 2027.

Eoin will explain why climate change is an issue for every one of us and what “net zero” really means. He will explain what is already being done by the government, corporations and other countries and what can be done in your business. He will give an overview of the UK SRS S1/S2 standards and bring us up to date on the Sustainability Disclosure Regulations.

Eoin will give clear guidance on what you need to be doing now and how you can address climate change both personally and professionally. He will discuss the process of change and how to convince others in your organisation that change is needed, together with pointers about where you can go for further information.

This event will cover:

  • Understanding why climate reporting is needed, the regulatory environment and the process of change
  • What can do personally and professionally to take action on climate change
  • How to implement change and equipping you to persuade your organisation

Who should attend:

All members and students, especially those tasked with implementing the UK sustainability reporting standards published February 2026, those working with business supplying the public sector and those interested in understanding what they can do to make a difference.
