- Differentiating Activities: the few things you do that competitors can’t copy
- Core Purpose: your why, in language your team will actually repeat
- BHAG: a 10 to 25 year goal big enough to organize the next decade around
- Vivid Vision: paint three years out so vividly that people can see themselves in it
- Fanocracy: marketing that builds fans instead of buying attention
- Personal Why and Ikigai: line up the company you’re building with the life you want
You’ll leave with your differentiating activities named, a draft BHAG and Vivid Vision, and a short version of your story that your team and your market can repeat back to you.
About Your Trainer: Bill Gallagher
Bill Gallagher is the author of Busy Is Broken, host of the Scaling Up Podcast (700+ episodes), and a coach to CEOs and entrepreneurs who want to scale without losing their minds. Across 40+ years as an entrepreneur and executive, he led four companies as CEO and helped grow two others from startup to over $550 million. Today he works with leaders and teams in 39 cities across 18 countries.
A former DJ and radio executive, Bill still talks for a living, just with better material. When he's not coaching, he's probably surfing, sailing, skiing, flying, or diving, basically anything that moves. He and his wife Lori have lived in the Oakland Hills for 30 years and raised two kids: a son who's a leading AI scientist and a daughter who's a creative director in music and entertainment. He's also a proud grandpa.
