Two shows, one night! First set is a special presentation of "Shades Of Blue - Great American Blues Revue", the newest show from AC Myles and band. Second set is a tribute to the "Stratocaster Masters: Jimi Hendrix, Rory Ghallager, & Stevie Ray Vaughan".
SHADES OF BLUE - Great American Rockin’ Blues Revue pays homage to original bluesman Robert Johnson and The Delta, featuring tributes to many of the greatest blues artists and their best-known songs. Expect to hear mashups of songs like Johnson’s version of “CROSSROADS” and the decidedly more rock version from CREAM. Hear a heart-felt medley of the “Three Kings” (BB, ALBERT & FREDDIE) and their respective hits, “THE THRILL IS GONE,” “BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN” and “GOIN’ DOWN.” Along the way, you will hear legendary, iconic Blues tunes like “Whipping Post,” “Roadhouse Blues,” “Pride & Joy”, “Good Morning Little School Girl,” “I Put A Spell On You,” “Ain’t Superstitious” and “Who Do You Love,” among many other well-known Blues Classics.
STRATOCASTER MASTERS: Jimi Hendrix, Rory Ghallager, & Stevie Ray Vaughan is a high-energy tribute presented by AC Myles and band, celebrating legendary Fender Stratocaster players, specifically focusing on Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Rory Gallagher.
See them live at Almost Famous Wine Lounge, an award-winning tasting room and world-class music venue located in the heart of Livermore's urban wine, spirits and brewery district.
ABOUT SHADES OF BLUE
The intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 49 in Clarksdale, Mississippi is purported to be the “Crossroads” where musician ROBERT JOHNSON sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for fame and fortune as a Bluesman. While other locations make the claim of being the “Crossroads,” one thing is certain, the MISSISSIPPI DELTA is the birthplace of the United States’ own unique musical genre, The Blues.
SHADES OF BLUE pays homage to Johnson and The Delta in their Rockin’ Revue, featuring tributes to many of the greatest blues artists and their best-known songs. Many have become “Blues Standards.” Expect to hear mashups of songs like Johnson’s version of “CROSSROADS” and the decidedly more rock version from CREAM. Hear a heart-felt medley of the “Three Kings” (BB, ALBERT & FREDDIE) and their respective “hits,” “THE THRILL IS GONE,” “BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN” and “GOIN’ DOWN.”
Along the way, you will hear legendary, iconic Blues tunes like “Whipping Post,” “Roadhouse Blues,” “Pride & Joy”, “Good Morning Little School Girl,” “I Put A Spell On You,” “Ain’t Superstitious” and “Who Do You Love,” among many other well-known Blues Classics.
The vision & concept for the show is a collaboration between veteran musician/band leader Tommy King and guitarist AC Myles, along with input and suggestions from George Gosling of TABLETOP PRODUCTIONS – the agency representing SHADES OF BLUE. To our knowledge, there is no other band or group presenting a show like this one. If you are a fan of the genre, you will certainly want to see SHADES OF BLUE - Great American Rockin’ Blues Revue.
ABOUT AC MYLES
"Solid, confident performance with strong guitar and vocals and good attention to tone" - Bruce Iglauer - Alligator Records
AC Myles is stylistically along the lines of a modern-day Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop and Rory Gallagher. His albums 'Transitory' (2021), 'With These Blues' (2017), 'Rush to Red' (2015) & 'Reconsider Me' (2014) outline his musical development. Myles very confidently delivers with great vocal phrase and tone as well as staggering, unyielding guitar work. He is truly an artist that once you see onstage, you will never forget.
"...spotlights Myles's tough guitar playing and devastating singing." - Tom Hyslop - Blues Revue Magazine
The only son of production workers, Myles grew up in the migrant worker neighborhoods of Central California, spending his later teens and twenties touring with his own band. Finding his way to the San Francisco Bay Area & Los Angeles, he played sideman to an array of acts and begun touring nationally and internationally. Myles' song selections vary from originals and choice covers, ranging from traditional electric blues of the 60's and 70's into southern rock and soul. His live appearances showcase a healthy dose of humor, along with superb musicianship, leaving no doubt that he is the genuine article.
"Perhaps the only soulful thing to come out of Fresno, AC Myles can play the hell out of a guitar, and he's growing as a songwriter" - San Jose Metro Editor Steve Palopoli
"This album is a stunning piece of work and will put Mr Myles on your list to see live and to track down his previous releases." - Bob Bonsey - Blues Matters Magazine UK
"Blues-rocking guitarist AC Myles is an artist whose musical stock seems to be an arrow pointing straight up. The real deal folks! Dig it!" - Brent Black / www.criticaljazz.com
"The man has a very good voice and he's a great guitarist. There is much variety in his music." - Rootstime Belgium
He has appeared at numerous blues festivals and venues worldwide, and shared stages with Gov’t Mule, Zac Brown Band, Buddy Guy, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more.
