This workshop will provide professional instruction in creating a stylized abstract painting of autumn birch trees using an impasto technique while working with palette knives and paint brushes. Learn a variety of different acrylic techniques and compositional strategies for creating the scumbled textures and thick applications of paint.In order to guarantee space is available, students must register in advance before the start of class No previous art making skills are required, just a love for art and an eagerness to learn and create!
What you'll learn:
• Students will gain a better understanding of the importance of strategically layering acrylic paints
• Students will gain a better understanding of the importance of working "back to front" when developing a landscape composition
• Students will develop an increased confidence in their art making abilities
Students will be guided step by step through each stage of the painting process. The importance of the various techniques and materials will be explained in detail as the painting progresses.
