Have you been wanting to learn how to machine sew but just don't know where to start? Bloom Sewing offers a special one-time Art Again Thrift absolute beginner lesson! Due to this being a one-session class (rather than split into two 2-hour sessions), it is for ages 13+.
Included:
-Up to 4 hours of class time (most people finish in 3-3.5 hours)
-We will cover machine sewing safety and basic sewing notions before moving on to using the machine. You will then learn to thread the machine and work on practice stitches. Finally, you'll get to make your very own pillow case to bring home, along with instructions to repeat the project!
-Use of my sewing machines are included. I have several Brother CS6000i machines, which has built-in safety features and a speed option to make things easy, especially for young learners. If you prefer to bring your own machine, please let me know the make and model when we set up a time for your lesson!
-Use of all needed sewing notions, such as marking implements, scissors, point turner, iron, etc.
-Fabric and thread for, as well as a pillow insert, are provided. If you prefer to bring your own, you will need 1/2 yard of washed woven cotton (40-44"" wide), and matching thread. I like Coats and Clark Dual Duty XP, which is widely available and not too expensive. 125 yards (their smallest spool) is plenty. Feel free to ask for more guidance on this.
Please note that wearing a high-quality mask (KN95 or better) is required to make the class safe and accessible to all, and masks are provided free of charge.
