Special Weather Rules – (these are modified from Battlefront’s Winter Rules)
Snow – all tables are assumed to be snow-covered and no Cross Country Dash movement is allowed.
Black Ice – Any fully tracked vehicle unit moving more that 8” in a regular move must roll a skill test at 8” of movement and must stop at that time if they fail the skill test.
Any halftrack or wheeled vehicle unit may never move more than 8” in a regular move.
The Black Ice rules are in force throughout the game, not just during a blizzard.
The restricted movement is only for regular moves and doesn’t include Blitz or Follow Me Movement.
Note: Rolls are per unit, not per vehicle. If a Unit has a Tactics Rating, that number is used for the roll.
Blizzard – Each player will roll a die at the start of their turn. On a roll of 1, the Blizzard strikes and continues for the following turns. The Blizzard continues and players will roll a die at the beginning of each turn. On a roll of a 6, the Blizzard will end. Visibility will be limited to the following below during Blizzard turns.
Visibility Table
1 or 2 Roll 8” Visibility
3 or 4 Roll 12” Visibility
5 or 6 Roll 24” Visibility
When a unit is ready to shoot, roll a die and this will be how far this unit can see to shoot. Targets beyond that range cannot be hit. Teams that fired in the other players turn are visible at any range during the Blizzard.
All Shooting during a Blizzard will be subject to an additional +1 to Hit on top of all other normal modifications.
Bombardments and Repeat Bombardments are possible during a Blizzard – Spotting for new Bombardments do not require a roll on the visibility table, but the location must be in Line of Sight of a valid Spotter. Ranging in will be at an additional +1 for all ranging In Rolls during a blizzard. Repeat Bombardments are treated as Unobserved. In all cases, the To Hit number will also be increased by an additional +1 for Observed and Unobserved Bombardments during Blizzard Turns- so a Roll of a 7 may be needed To Hit in some cases.
No Aircraft will be available during Blizzard Turns.
Rolls to Hit in an Assault are not modified during Blizzard Turns. Defensive Fire in Assaults does get the +1 to Hit Penalty
A Blizzard can only happen once per Table per Round.
