Celebrate Black cinema at the Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival 2026, themed “Kemet for the Kemetyu: At Home and Abroad.”
Friday 16 October: the online programme opens at 5 PM with a brief welcome, followed by Heritage Africa as the opening film, with Nana Kwaw Ansah’s appearance and discussion in the opening programme. AI, Storytelling & New Media and Remnants of the Past follow; their revised start times and Friday closing time will be confirmed.
Saturday 17 October: online screenings begin at 10 AM. The Awards Ceremony begins at 6 PM at the Exhibition Hall, National Theatre, Accra, with awards presented online to selected filmmakers. The tribute to Nana Kwaw Ansah and Lifetime Achievement Award begins at 7 PM, followed by closing remarks. The exact ending time is to be confirmed.
