Event Details:

Sine Institute Industry Conference is an all-day event holding six masterclasses from industry veterans to support film makers on their journey. As part of the Sine Institute Industry Conference, Stephanie Herrara and Michael Duboff will be holding a masterclass at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus, on March 5th between 1pm and 4pm.


There is enough risk in the Entertainment industry as it is. Through this masterclass with Stephanie Herrera and Michasel Duboff, attendees will learn about the different types of insurance that has protected film makers in different phases of production. Towards the end of the masterclass, the lecture will be an open discussion with attendees so Stephanie and Michael can answer the questions most important to your production.

Speaker:

Stephanie Herrera is a multi-award winning actor and writer and her work has led to nominations for a Latin American Achievement Award and a Canadian Comedy Award. Stephanie has performed for TV, Film, Theatre, Improv, Sketch, and as a Voice Over artist. She has been the Director of Operations and a judge for several film festivals as well as the Artistic Director of the Ontario International Film Festival and Durham Improv Collective Inc. She writes for film and TV and her performance credits include appearing on "The Boys", "Reacher", and in Ari Aster's "Beau Is Afraid". She takes her passion and expertise in the industry and brings it over to her work as an insurance broker with HUB International. As part of the Entertainment division, Stephanie loves to support creatives at any level of their careers and jumps at the opportunity to help educate the up and coming creators.

Michael Duboff is a lawyer at Duboff Edwards Schachter Law Corporation. Michael specializes in entertainment law – providing services in industries including film and television, publishing, and music – while also carrying on a broader commercial and corporate practice.

Prior to starting his legal career, Michael was in an alternative rock band recording and touring for four years. He also studied film production at TMU (formerly Ryerson) and worked on independent productions across Toronto and Vancouver as a director, writer, and producer. Michael lives in Toronto with his wife, son, and dog.
