Come share your book love at our Valentine’s Party!
On Valentine's Day we will open our Amsterdam store after hours for all Booklovers who love to spend time with books, love to share books, and love to talk about books.
❤️ Whether you want to celebrate romantic love, platonic love, or self-love, we're open to all, so bring your lover, your friends, or yourself! ❤️
Special guest: Romance author will be in conversation with debut author Birdie Schae and sign her books. Rachel Lynn Solomon is the New York Times bestselling author of , The Weather Girl, and other romantic comedies for teens and adults. Originally from Seattle, she's currently navigating expat life with her husband in Amsterdam. Birdie Schae is an author and student originally from Belgium. She spends most of her time writing love stories, analyzing all sorts of fiction through tears, or listening to a truly concerning amount of music. is her forthcoming debut novel.
This part of the program will take place from 19:30 to 20:30hrs.
Beyond browsing books, we'll have some fun activities planned for you:
- Smut writing competition: write a one paragraph love scene, making it as smutty, corny and cringe as possible. You will be guided by two writing coaches. Read, or have your entry read, at the end of the night. The winner gets a smutty book prize!
- Scavenger Hunt: get to know your date by finding books in various categories that tell them something about you. We have a hunt for both friends and (potential) lovers.
- D&D mini-adventure: may the dice be in your favour and treat you to a love-filled mini-adventure. Our in-house Dobbelganger DM Jurgen will send you on a quest for love.
- Self-love corner: Bring out the most beautiful version of yourself with professional make-up artist Alena. A moment of respite while you get a glow-up, or bring your own favourite make-up for professional tips and tricks on how to use them best.
- Valentine’s bake: bring your Valentine cookies, cakes, pies or other baked goods to share with everyone on Valentine's night. All bakers will receive a little gift voucher as a token of our love.
- Drinks and chocolate bar: we’ll have some light refreshments and sweets available for you.
