Steve Marking plays Will Dilg, an accomplished conservationist, in this one-man, multimedia performance. See how Will Dilg overcame major obstacles and collaborated with important partners to form one of the nation's first large-scale, grassroots, environmental protection campaigns. Dilg’s efforts throughout the 1920’s resulted in the formation of the Izaak Walton League of America, and critically, the protection of a 261-mile stretch of the Mississippi River backwaters. That stretch is now the largest wildlife and fish refuge in Wisconsin: the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge
Marking created a script that relies heavily on Dilg’s own published words. The beauty of the native flora and fauna of the refuge is featured as a backdrop for this extraordinary and inspirational show.
Special thanks to our supporters: The Wisconsin Chapter of The Wildlife Society and the Izaak Walton League of Wisconsin.
