About this Event
The visit will begin with a full safety induction, covering all necessary safety information before the group enters the mine.
Following the induction, we will venture underground for a guided tour of Stoke Hill Mine, learning more about Bath Stone, its extraction and its important role in the architectural character of Bath and the surrounding area.
A light lunch will be provided following the tour.
If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know when booking.
Bath Stone has played a defining role in the architectural identity of Bath for centuries. This visit provides a rare opportunity to explore the source of this distinctive local material and gain a greater understanding of its extraction and use.

A Note from the Committee
Our events are organised and delivered by our voluntary committee members, who give their time alongside their professional commitments to create an interesting and varied programme for our members and guests.
Whilst we always endeavour to ensure that event details are accurate and that events run to the published schedule, occasionally timings, arrangements or other details may need to change. We therefore kindly ask for your patience and understanding should things not go entirely to plan.
We very much appreciate your support and hope you enjoy the events we organise.
