A space to talk, breathe and be understood. Open to any mother in our community.
About this Event

Mother's Support Group

Motherhood can be incredibly isolating, even when you’re surrounded by people. This is a place where you don’t have to pretend you’re fine.

Valley Spring Recovery Center is opening its doors to any mother in our community for a free, monthly support group. No diagnosis, no referral, and no prior connection to VSRC required — just show up.

We sit together, open the floor, and talk about whatever's actually on people's minds that day: the guilt, the exhaustion, the moments that don't make it into conversation anywhere else. Sometimes getting out of bed is enough, and that's welcome here too.

This is peer support, not group therapy — a room built on listening rather than lecturing, led by two people who care about this community.

What to expect

  • An open forum, not a structured class or curriculum. Bring whatever you're carrying that day.
  • A judgment-free space for mothers at any stage — new, seasoned, in recovery, supporting a loved one in recovery, or just plain tired.
  • Coffee, conversations, and connections.

Date & Time: Monthly, Saturdays, 1:00–2:30 PM. First session: Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Where: Valley Spring Recovery Center, 830 Broadway, Norwood, NJ
Cost: Free
Meet your Facilitators: Paul Roeser & Lana Roeser

Lana Roeser is a mother who understands this room from more than one seat. She has faced her own struggle with addiction, and she has stood beside her son through his recovery. She knows what it is to love someone through the hardest parts of this, and how much it can mean to finally say the quiet parts out loud to people who won't flinch. This first session will be the first time Lana has spoken to a group about her son's addiction — and she's choosing to do that here, with you.

Paul James Roeser is Lana's son, an alumnus of Valley Spring Recovery Center's own program, and currently Valley Spring Recovery's Business Generation & Marketing Coordinator. He is 18 months into his own recovery. He'll be at this first session alongside his mother — not only to help lead it, but to be there for her as she shares her story with a group for the first time.

This is a peer support space — not therapy, and not a clinical service.

If you or someone you love is in need of treatment, our team is here: reach out anytime at [email protected].
