About this Event
Raise a glass to an evening of flavor, culture, and connection at a special after-hours experience at the Petaluma Museum. This event is held in celebration of the annual Día de los Muertos exhibition, presented in partnership with El Día de los Muertos Petaluma.
Discover the rich traditions and craft behind mezcal with Sonoma County's own La Luna Mezcal and Benesin Mezcal. Guests will enjoy four featured spirits—two from each producer—paired with delicious small bites chosen to complement each pour.
Along the way, meet the people behind the spirits and hear stories of agave, place, production traditions, and the connections between Michoacan, Oaxaca, and Sonoma County.
Throughout the evening, the Museum will be open for guests to explore the annual Día de los Muertos exhibition of community altars and artwork. Representatives from El Día de los Muertos Petaluma will also share the meaning and traditions of the holiday and offer insight into the ofrendas on display.
Your evening includes:
- Four mezcal tastings featuring La Luna and Benesin
- Four food pairings selected to complement the featured pours
- The chance to meet and talk with the mezcal producers and discover the people, places, and traditions behind each spirit
- An introduction to Día de los Muertos traditions from El Día de los Muertos Petaluma
- After-hours access to the Museum and its exhibition of community altars and artwork
- Plenty of time to sip, taste, explore, and enjoy the evening at your own pace
