A RUN FOR YOUR MONEYWritten and Directed by Richard Maker
A premiere production
In 1890s Perth, cunning ex-convict and washed-up variety star Arthur Fox fakes his own lavish deathbed to lure greedy “long-lost relatives” hungry for his goldfields fortune. With his loyal but stuttering sidekick Kit Merritt and the arrival of sharp-witted widow Bella, the scams, bribes, dodgy pork pies, and quack enemas spiral into glorious chaos.
A fast, filthy, and fiercely funny colonial farce about greed, performance, and reinvention - where the real gold is in the con itself. When the strongbox is emptied and the curtain falls, Fox and Merritt simply start a brand-new act.
