A talk with a twist! Come partake in wisdom weaving - reclaiming Irish traditions of Vision Quest and nature culture for human development.
About this Event

Ritual Lab

Drop into the sacred ordinary with us!

We're visiting each province each season - bringing our wild and embodied wisdom into the built world, so we can all share in the discussion together.

Join us to look at what nature based practice really is, how a culture of connection can be reclaimed, and what it means to be a flourishing human individual as part of a healthy whole.

What to Expect:

Input on:

-Nature immersions & practices of human - nature connection

-Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK versus Tech)

-pancultural modalities of praxis e.g Vision Quest, Walkabout, Pilgrimage, Wilderness Vigil and Threshold time, and Irish traditions of such

-what these practices offer us for our modern lives, and - crucially - how to practice!

Why this? Why now?

We are disconnected, exhausted, and can barely hear our own inner voice.

In a world of sustainability solutions, our worlds continue to fragment.

A renewal of our worlds must include our human selves as part of that regeneration - of the inner realm as much as the outer.

We reclaim the human wisdom that knew itself intimately interwoven with bird, moss, mountain, cragg, and sky.

We rebelong our wholeness

We do this together, in cities, towns, built landscapes (not just mountainsides!)

What you will learn:

-how to conduct your own nature solo time, and begin to decipher messages other than human intelligence.

-guidance on how these practices can support us with the big questions we have for our lives, or for the world

-how to align our personal developmental process (psyche and social selves) with a nature centric model

-what remains of Ireland’s legacies of practice - our threads of indigeneity

-how to begin to listen to the land, and to see what’s hidden

Discussions & Reflections on:

-aligning our developmental progress along ecologies soulful limits and gifts

-inhabiting ways of being as antidote to the wounds of modernity & as medicine for future potentials

Who is this for ?

This is for folks who are newly exploring nature based practices.

For anyone who is curious about animist worldviews.

For those seeking to live more aligned with natural processes.

For anyone who is at a threshold in their lives, or needs support with a bigger question or enquiry.

For those who wish to be part of the nature-centric cultural reclamation.

For folks who know there is something missing in our human discourse, and who are hungry for more of life’s true magic.

And for those already familiar and practicing - come be part of the enrichment of this web.

Fite fuaite // interwoven - we weave the web of change together.

Good to know:

This is part informative talk / part experiential. Participation in any activities is voluntary.

This can be an incubating space, to explore questions that may have been surfacing in your own life or those you share your life with.

We welcome those with experience of living in animist ways, and those who are still understanding what animism means to them.

Need more inspiration?

Sometimes, a leap of remembering is the best next step.

Sometimes, our highest technology is our traditional wisdom reclaimed.

Sometimes our futures are not up, out, elsewhere, but spiralling around the ancient in evolutions that can be revolutionary.

Sometimes, our futures are best designed by grasping at the root.

Come join us for a radical remembering of what truly holds our lives, and how to reclaim the soulful and ecological orientation of our worlds.

Before you join:

Come with anything that makes your body comfortable for sitting.

If you are moved to bring something that represents life to you, please do so.

There will be snacks - if you have a particular dietary requirement, please let us know before hand! Or bring something you love to share (if you feel inspired!)
