About this Event
A Private Green City Market Tour & Seasonal Recipe Building Experience
Join Javauneeka Jacobs of Frontera Grill and César Murillo of North Pond for an intimate morning exploring seasonality and the relationships that shape Chicago’s local food community.
This guided experience will invite guests behind the scenes of Green City Market to meet the farmers, growers, and producers whose work directly influences some of Chicago’s most celebrated kitchens. In addition to a sumptuous breakfast, all participants will partake in a “recipe building” experience throughout the tour, where they will hear how the chefs utilize market offerings to create delicious, locally sourced meals. Once the tour is complete, participants will have the opportunity to take home a chef-created seasonal recipe and a bag filled with all the necessary ingredients, so they can give it a whirl in their own kitchens!
The morning includes:
- A guided seasonal market tour with Javauneeka Jacobs and César Murillo
- Conversations with Green City Market farmers and vendors
- Insight into sourcing, seasonality, and relationship-driven dining
- Light market breakfast featuring sandwiches, fruit, and coffee from Green City Market vendors
- A rare small-group experience supporting Green City Market’s nonprofit mission - we are more than just a market!
- Recipe card provided by the Chefs along with a bag filled with ingredients to take home!
