Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream - Mar. 25 - Apr. 11 Four young lovers, Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius, flee the strict laws of Athens and venture into an enchanted forest, unaware that they have stepped into the middle of a domestic war between Oberon and Titania, the King and Queen of the Fairies. Armed with a mischievous servant named Puck and a powerful love potion, Oberon attempts to settle his scores, but only succeeds in throwing the lovers into a state of total romantic delirium. Adding to the mayhem is a group of local craftsmen, "The Mechanicals," who have retreated to the woods to rehearse a play for the Duke’s wedding. When their lead actor, Nick Bottom, is transformed into a donkey and becomes the unintended object of a fairy queen's affection, the line between reality and dream disappears entirely.
It is Shakespeare’s most beloved celebration of the irrationality of love.
