CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS NIGHT
Featuring the Great Applegate Christmas Cookie Exchange & Bake-Off
You do NOT have to be a baker to come Friday night!
We’re filling the farm with Christmas lights, gingerbread people, reindeer food, Christmas music, trivia, games, cocoa, cookies and all those little traditions that make the week before Christmas so much fun.
And at the center of it all will be…
🍪 THE GREAT APPLEGATE CHRISTMAS COOKIE EXCHANGE & BAKE-OFF!
We’re opening just 25 REGISTERED BAKER SPOTS for our first Great Applegate Cookie Exchange.
Here’s how it works:
🍪 Bake 5 DOZEN of ONE favorite homemade Christmas cookie.
Bring them to Applegate.
We’ll organize the exchange.
And instead of spending December baking 25 different recipes…
You’ll head home with an assortment from everybody else!
Our goal is for each baker to leave with approximately TWO COOKIES FROM EVERY OTHER BAKER IN THE EXCHANGE!
With a full 25-baker exchange, that could mean heading home with nearly 50 different homemade Christmas cookies while you only had to bake ONE recipe yourself.
Now THAT is a cookie exchange. 😂❤️

You bake ONE recipe. We organize the exchange. You leave with a box full of everybody else’s.
Advance registration is REQUIRED for bakers.
Once the 25 baker spots are filled, registration is closed.

The kids have some very important work to do before Christmas Eve.
🍪 DECORATE A GINGERBREAD PERSON — $5
Choose your gingerbread person and go to town with icing, candies, sprinkles and Christmas decorations.
Kids can make theirs beautiful.
Adults can make theirs ridiculous.
We support both approaches. 😂
🦌 MAKE REINDEER FOOD — $3
Christmas Eve is coming, and Santa’s team is going to be hungry!
Kids can make their own bag of wildlife-safe reindeer food to take home and sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve.
Each bag will include a special Applegate Christmas Eve tag/instructions.

Last weekend we had a beautiful Old-World Christmas.
There were carolers.
There were lanterns.
There was a Nativity.
Everyone behaved themselves.
That was last weekend. 😂
This Saturday we’re inviting the GRINCHES & GRISWOLDS to take over Applegate!
Come dressed as a Grinch.
Come as a Griswold.
Wear an ugly Christmas sweater.
Dress your entire family.
Cover yourself in Christmas lights.
Show up looking like Christmas threw up on you.
We’re really not going to judge.

We’ll gather our Grinches, Griswolds, ugly sweaters, Christmas characters and over-the-top families for a Christmas Costume Parade through part of Applegate.
Then we’ll crown our winners!

There was really only ONE movie we could show at the Grinches & Griswolds party.
🎬 NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION
Bring your chairs and blankets and finish the party with the Griswolds themselves.
⚠️ National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is rated PG-13. Parents should use their own discretion for younger children.
🎬 Movie admission: $5 per person — separate from event admission.

Our walk-through Christmas Lights remain open EVERY NIGHT THROUGH DECEMBER 31.
After December 19, enjoy quieter honor-system evenings beneath the lights.
Then everything ends with one final celebration…
