ChainBreakers, Inc., in partnership with Mt. Sinai Family Life Christian Center and other community partners, will host A Legacy of Hope: Breast Health Awareness & Survivor Celebration on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Family Life Christian Center, 1200 Potomac Avenue, Portsmouth, Virginia.Free and open to the public, A Legacy of Hope expands ChainBreakers' annual breast cancer outreach into a community health initiative focused on awareness, remembrance, support, and survivorship. This year's event will provide women and families with breast health education, information about early detection and screening, wellness resources, and connections to healthcare and community organizations. Breast cancer survivors and others touched by the disease will also share personal stories of courage, hope, and perseverance.
Event Highlights: A Legacy of Hope will feature breast health education and community resource exhibits, survivor testimonies, speakers with health and wellness information, inspirational music and activities, giveaways, and a complimentary lunch.
A special Legacy Memorial Experience will honor loved ones whose lives were lost to breast cancer. Families will have an opportunity to contribute photographs and memories to a memorial slideshow presentation that can be edited and shared throughout the event, creating a space for reflection while celebrating the lasting impact of those remembered.
Healthcare providers, breast cancer organizations, community agencies, and wellness partners will be available to connect attendees with information and resources related to breast health, screening, treatment support, survivorship, caregiver services, and overall wellness. The event will also continue the spirit of ChainBreakers' previous survivor celebrations by highlighting the journeys of breast cancer survivors as well as those currently undergoing treatment.
