A Jazz Piano Christmas
Join us at 10,000 Hours for a special evening of acoustic jazz and holiday classics, featuring the Steve Boudreau Trio with John Geggie and Jim Doxas.
Settle in for an evening of beautifully reimagined Christmas music, including beloved holiday classics by Vince Guaraldi and more. In the warm, intimate setting of our Concert Hall, this special performance brings together three of Canada’s celebrated jazz musicians for an evening that is as much about the atmosphere as it is the music.
Steve Boudreau is an Ottawa-based pianist specializing in jazz and popular music, with performance and teaching experience across North America and Europe. He has performed as both a leader and sideman at jazz festivals, theatres, and clubs, and his recent work includes the acclaimed trio album Cherished Possessions, featuring drummer Jim Doxas.
John Geggie is an internationally established Ottawa-based double bassist, composer, and educator. A longtime member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, John has performed with some of the leading names in jazz and has hosted the Ottawa Jazz Festival’s Late Night Jam Series for more than 20 years. He has also collaborated with Steve Boudreau on previous trio projects.
Jim Doxas is a Montréal-based jazz drummer, composer, recording engineer, and educator whose playing can be heard across more than 150 albums and soundtracks. A featured artist at jazz festivals around the world, Jim has performed with artists including Oliver Jones, John Abercrombie, Joe Lovano, Hank Jones, and Maria Schneider.
Together, these musicians create an evening of sophisticated, swinging jazz with the warmth and nostalgia of the holiday season.
