The present Library exhibition of vernacular Bibles allows an opportunity to consider more widely the presence of Bibles within the manuscript collection of Christ Church.
In this exhibition talk, Dr David Rundle, Senior Lecturer in Latin and Palaeography, Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at the University of Kent, will explore the history of the arrival of Bible manuscripts in the Library and how that history reflects the changing identity of Christ Church. He will also focus on how occasional battles over the college were fought through donations.
The talk will be followed by refreshments. All are welcome!
