About this Event
What happens when we get what we pray for?
In her quest for motherhood and healing, one woman wrangles with rapture and rupture. In this profoundly moving solo performance, master story-weaver and musician Shaw Pong Liu invites audiences into a shared journey through birth, loss and transformation.
Weaving intimate narrative with music and moments of collective sound-making, the immersive experience takes audiences from individual reflection toward a sense of embodied community. With theatre direction by Giselle Byrd.
Developed in residency at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Content advisory: A Golden Seam contains themes of miscarriage and postpartum mental health challenges

Supporting Our Community Village
This show reflects on the winding, deeply personal path to becoming a parent. But no one becomes a parent—or survives it—alone.
To honor the villages that sustain us, we are lifting up three local organizations that hold families through life's most transformative beginnings and heaviest trials.
All performances are free to attend. To support these vital lifelines, you can choose a sliding-scale donation ticket at checkout or give during the post-show receptions. 100% of funds raised will be divided equally among:
- (supporting new life)
- (supporting families through pregnancy and infant loss)
- (supporting families healing from the devastating trauma of homicide)
Choose Your Night:
Saturday, Oct 24: Join us for our Artistic Premiere and a celebratory post-show reception.
Sunday, Oct 25: Join us for our Community Celebration Performance, featuring a festive post-show reception where you can meet and connect directly with these vital community organizations.
A Note on Arrival & Seating:
Seating is first-come, first-served. Your free registration guarantees entry up until 15 minutes before showtime. To help us fill the room, any remaining seats will be released to standby guests after that time. Thank you for arriving early and sharing this space with us!
