This Día de los Muertos, Bakan dedicates its ofrenda to Diana Kennedy, honoring her love of Mexico and her lifelong work sharing its food, stories and traditions with the world. The altar celebrates the cooking traditions she spent her life documenting, many of which are at the heart of Bakan’s kitchen: ancestral corn, traditional nixtamalization and handmade tortillas. The ofrenda is part of the Wynwood BID’s Día de los Muertos Ofrenda Trail, a walkable route of altars displayed in participating businesses across the neighborhood.
