The Stage at the Corner is proud to present a formal, two-person dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ beloved classic, A Christmas Carol. The production is based on the condensed one-hour script that Charles Dickens himself used during his 1856 tour of the United States. Performed by Patrick Foley and Tom Good, two award-winning actors, the show is presented as a dramatic reading, beautifully enhanced with recorded orchestral music from the mid-19th century, theatrical sound effects and a backdrop of colorful multimedia slideshow images that help create a rich and engaging theatrical experience for listeners.
In addition to the story itself, the performance also offers listeners thoughtful insight into why Dickens wrote, A Christmas Carol. Through narration and slide visuals, listeners are introduced to the difficult social conditions of early 19th-century London that inspired this timeless and powerful work.
