About this Event
This new version of A Christmas Carol is directed by Cata Lindegard, with a collaborative script produced by people who have experienced homelessness in weekly writing groups across Wales, pulled together by playwright Owen Thomas.
The show features twelve amateur actors from Swansea, Cardiff, Bridgend and Newport, all with lived experience of homelessness and related social issues, who have been supported by The Wallich.
Performing alongside will be professional actor Charlie McCollom-Cartwright in the role of Scrooge, who has been sharing their acting and pantomime expertise in weekly workshops.
The chorus will be provided by the Choir with No Name Cardiff.
The show is designed to be entertaining while raising awareness of homelessness.
This project has been made possible through Arts Council of Wales funding.
The Wallich supports more than 7,000 people a year who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.
Winter can be an especially difficult time for people experiencing homelessness. Colder weather, shorter days and the pressures of the festive period can make an already difficult situation even harder.
