Farhang Foundation is proud to once again support all Iranian films in competition at this year’s prestigious Newport Beach Film Festival. We’re kicking things off with the Orange County International Spotlight premiere of A BIT OF LIGHT (کمی نور), the much-anticipated and critically acclaimed film by renowned filmmaker Ali Asgari.
Starring Missagh Zareh, Sadaf Asgari, Forouzan Jamshidnejad, Ramtin Daghigh, and Mina Rahimzadeh, this moving film explores family, human connection, and the small moments that rekindle hope.
A Bit of Light follows a disillusioned Tehran doctor who decides to end his life after authorities shut down his medical practice as punishment for helping the January 2026 wounded demonstrators. He spends one final day visiting his family to prepare them for his departure. However, unexpected moments of profound human connection and family warmth slowly reconcile him with reality, sparking a fragile sense of hope.
