A Benton Harbor Story follows decades of disinvestment, failing infrastructure, and state emergency management that set the stage for yet another water crisis in a predominantly Black Michigan city. Echoing the crisis in Flint, Benton Harbor’s story shares how residents fight for safe water, accountability, and a voice in their own future.
Sponsored by the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, English, the Department of Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice, Intercultural Center, Planet Blue Ambassador, Wolverine HOPE, and the King Huerta Hood Parks Initiative, with funding from the Mellon Grant, Cracks in the Pavement program.
