When we received the genuinely dispiriting news of Dolly Parton's death, there was really only one film to show: this rollicking yet still relevant satire on sexism in the workplace. 9 to 5 uses Dolly the best because it places her in a wider comedy unit with more experienced comedy performers - Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. They play off each other brilliantly as office workers who, through a series of increasingly chaotic mishaps, kidnap their tyrannical toxic boss, turning workplace resentment into a wonderfully absurd revenge plot. The whole thing is capped by Dolly's Oscar-nominated title track which I'm sure plays in your head every time you think of this film. A fitting tribute to a universally-loved cultural giant. Goodbye, Dolly.
