Medieval Europe celebrated December 26th to January 6th as the 12 days of Christmas, better known to them as “The Omen Days.” It was believed that gods are born or conceived on these “days out of time”, and we had greater access to powerful divination for the coming year.
The Omen Days practice consists of focusing on a question or intention each day during This Twelve Days of Christmas to give us guidance for each month of the coming year, so on December 26th, we ask for January’s guidance, December 27th we ask for February’s guidance, and so on for each of the 12 days representing the 12 months of the year, and then turning to nature for signs.
Each morning for these 12 days, people would step outside to observe animals, weather patterns, cloud formations, whatever called to their intuition, and take note of what spoke to them. They knew the signs gave them guidance on how to prepare for each month of the coming year.
For the next 12 nights, I will be pulling three sets of cards for all of us, and talking about the messages Spirit shares with me through the day, really tuning in to the intention move onto our highest timeline for 2027.
Many of us have been in deep shadow work for what feels like eons. The rising consciousness of the planet, the current astrology, and the commitment to inner work has culminated into 2027 being one of the most potent years of our lifetime yet.
