Don’t You Forget About the ’80s…Whether you went to Homecoming with the wrong date, no date, were Dancing With Myself, or had the Time of Your Life, consider this your do-over. No date needed. If you Wanna Dance With Somebody, grab your crew — or hell, you’re a grown-ass adult now. Go dance with strangers.
Join us Saturday, October 10 at Urbanrest Brewing Co. in Ferndale for an ’80s Homecoming — an entire evening of trivia, music, dancing and a little retro formal flair.
We’ll kick things off from 6–8 PM with ’80s Trivia hosted by DJ Zumby, covering the movies, music, TV, trends and pop culture that made the decade unforgettable.
Then from 8–11 PM, the tables move and the music turns up for an ’80s Homecoming dance with DJ Zumby. New Wave, pop, rock, R&B, funk and dance-floor classics — from Tainted Love, Bizarre Love Triangle and Just Like Heaven to Caribbean Queen, Word Up! and Jungle Love.
Retro or formal attire is encouraged — break out your best ’80s Homecoming look, go vintage, dress it up or just wear something worthy of the occasion.
And If You Leave… because you’re hungry, there will be food trucks on site. 😆
Tickets are $25 and include one drink, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Affirmations, Metro Detroit’s LGBTQ+ Community Center. Ticket link to be released soon!
