About this Event

Documentary Solo Theatre Performance

------

"8000 Kilometres" is a powerful solo theatre performance by Samvel Topalyan, inspired by his real journey through the historic lands of Western Armenia. Unexpected encounters, dangerous and deeply moving moments, humor, and personal memories come together in a story that forever changed the author's understanding of his history and roots.

Like the Krunk (կռունկ), the bird from the beloved Armenian song, the protagonist longs to bring news from the homeland to his grandmother. But time changes the recipient of that message: intended for his grandmother, it ultimately becomes a legacy for the next generation — his son.

This is a heartfelt story about memory, heritage, and the search for one's identity —one that invites the audience to laugh, reflect, and rediscover the past. "8000 Kilometres" is a journey that continues not only on stage, but in the heart of every spectator.
