Special Needs & Accessible Trunk or Treat 🎃Six years ago, this event was born from something very personal to my family.
My daughter loved getting dressed up for Halloween, but traditional trick-or-treating was overwhelming. She didn’t enjoy going to unfamiliar doors, being surrounded by crowds, or being scared of some of the costumes and decorations. I remember thinking, “surely we can’t be the only family who struggles with this”.
And I knew it wasn’t just the children.
For families with additional needs, sensory sensitivities or mobility challenges, navigating gravel driveways, stairs, crowded streets, loud noises and busy decorations can make traditional trick-or-treating difficult for both children and parents.
So, this event was created to give families a safe, understanding, non-judgmental and accessible place to enjoy Halloween and trick-or-treat in a way that works for them. ❤️
Our trunks are hosted by wonderful individuals, families and businesses who understand the meaning behind this event and believe every child deserves to experience the fun and magic of Halloween.
Registration is required for all participants, and we offer two time slots to help stagger the crowd and make the experience more comfortable for everyone.

I am so incredibly proud that this little idea has grown into something we’ve been able to do for six years. Thank you to every family, volunteer and trunk host who helps make this event what it is.
