Trauma informed self defense training to give you the power and control.
Join us for an empowering self-defense seminar designed to equip you with practical skills to defend yourself in real-world situations.
Learn effective techniques to fend off an assailant, neutralize threats, and safely escape an attack. Our experienced instructors will guide you through simple yet powerful strategies that can be applied in various scenarios, giving you the confidence and knowledge to protect yourself and your loved ones. Whether you’re a beginner or have previous self-defense experience, this seminar is open to all skill levels and focuses on fast, actionable responses in critical moments.
A weekend of training with skilled self defense instructors who are all certified in the Split Second Survival Self Defense System. This seminar gives you the chance to train with and learn from multiple instructors with various backgrounds and experience. Taught in a trauma informed, safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment allowing you the chance to learn, ask questions, practice, and improve your skills & your confidence.
Being a trauma informed course we will ensure that all the training is conducted in a way that it will empower the practitioner to have control of the situation and not be put in any scenario they are not willing or comfortable with. You can step back and just watch from the sidelines or step put for a moment at any time and will be welcomed back with no questions when you are ready.

Friday, Jan 29th, 5-9pm
Invite Only (Instructors, Conditional Instructors, and Invited Experienced Students):
Advanced training for currently certified instructors (of any level) and students told directly they are invited to this evening of training.
Saturday, Jan 30th, 10am – 5pm
Open to all participants who want to sign up for this day or the full event:
Defense against unarmed attackers:
Methods for situational awareness
How to escape a situation and where to go in order to leave and get to safety
How to calm yourself and respond to an attacker even though you may be scared
Methods of responding to your attacker to de-escalate the situation
Wrist grabs, both single and double handed (to include grabs from the front, side, or from behind)
Lunch Break
Clothing grabs on all common locations of the body
Neck or choking situations
Attacks from the back
Hair / Hoodie / Backpack type grabs
How to respond to swinging / punching / or moving attacks
Multiple assailants grabbing at once
How to quickly get off the ground and escape
Any other scenario requested by a participant
Sunday, Jan 31st, 10am – 5pm
Open to all participants who want to sign up for this day or the full event
(Concepts from Saturday will not be covered again and will be helpful to understand the concepts taught on Sunday)
Defense against attackers armed with bladed weapons:
How to respond to an attacker pulling a knife
Methods of escape from an attacker with a blunt or bladed weapon
Methods of responding to an attacker to de-escalate the situation
Knife attacks (to include from the front, side, or from behind)
Knife at the neck or choking situations
How to respond to an attacker pulling a knife
Lunch Break
Defense against attackers with firearms:
How to respond to an attacker pulling a gun
Methods of escape from an attacker with a firearm
Gun attacks (to include from the front, side, or from behind)
We will build on previous concepts from the whole seminar and apply them to attackers with knives, guns, and/or other weapons
How to respond to an attacker even if you need to escalate to a more aggressive response
*We will aim to cover all scenarios but if time does not permit we may have to speed up or remove a scenario

What to Wear
Attire for all training evolutions, sections, and events will be street clothes. No martial arts uniforms, of any kind, will be worn. Participants should be able to move but also simulate the standard attire you would wear on a normal day. Split Second Survival is designed to train you for real life scenarios, no matter the clothing you may be wearing. All participants will be addressed by name, no titles or positions will be used within the training.
*By signing up you agree to learn and participate in maintaining a welcoming and friendly environment. Any participant who breaks this can be asked to leave the event. Please understand we want all to learn without any issues.
