TERVETULOA! Welcome! Join us for a special celebration: 65 years of Finnish language, culture, and community in Toronto.
We invite you to be part of a memorable evening as we commemorate 65 incredible years of the Finnish School in Toronto! Founded in 1960, our school has been a vibrant cultural hub for Finnish-Canadian families, and this milestone is a wonderful opportunity to honor our shared heritage.
Prepare for a rich cultural experience filled with music, dance, storytelling, and community connections. This celebration is designed for all ages, vauvasta vaariin!
Enjoy a rich and engaging program:
---Live music, featuring actor and singer Mona Hillis, the Toronto Pelimannit, trumpeter Namleen Kaur Mallah, and the Kantele Players
---Folk dancing, theatre, and singing
---Door prizes, a silent auction, and a raffle
---Special exhibition featuring artwork on Finnish culture and identity created by our students.
---A celebration of the community, and Suomi-koulu's past, present and future.
Festive three-course buffet dinner with a variety of delicious appetizers, main course and desserts by a renowned catering company. Finnish delicacies such as Karelian pies, beetroot salad (rosolli), and pulla. Special dietary needs have been thoughtfully accommodated.
This evening is about bringing people together - our current and alumni families, students, volunteers, friends, and supporters.
Dress code: As this is a gala event, we invite you to dress in festive attire and enjoy an elegant evening with family and friends.
