Always wanted to learn the potter's wheel?
Our Level 1 Foundations Beginners Pottery Wheel course is designed for complete beginners, taster session graduates and anyone wanting to refresh their core throwing skills.
Over six weeks you'll build confidence through expert tuition, regular practice and plenty of encouragement in our friendly, artist-led studio.
You'll learn:
• Preparing clay for throwing
• Centring and coning
• Throwing cylinders and simple bowls
• Controlling thickness and shape
• Trimming and finishing pots
• Building confidence through repetition and practice
Think of Level 1 as learning to drive – it's all about building strong foundations before progressing to Level 2. Many students repeat the course to continue developing their skills and confidence.
What's Included?
✔ Six weekly 2.5-hour throwing sessions

✔ Expert tuition from ceramic artist Rachelle Corker
✔ Use of all studio tools, equipment and materials
✔ Professional glazing and firing of up to 2 finished pots (additional pots can be glazed for a small fee)

With just 8 participants, you'll receive plenty of one-to-one guidance, demonstrations and individual support in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
No previous experience is required—just come along ready to have a go and enjoy learning one of the most rewarding (and addictive!) crafts around.
