About this Event

6-Week Pottery Course at Liberation Art Gallery

Curious about pottery? This 6-week taster course at Liberation Art Gallery is the perfect introduction for beginners or anyone wanting to explore the world of clay. Over six hands-on sessions, you’ll experience handbuilding, wheel throwing, and paint & glaze techniques, gaining a well-rounded taste of pottery making.

Each session is guided by an experienced ceramics instructor in a supportive, creative environment. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own ceramic pieces and take them through the full process, including kiln firing, leaving with finished, professional-quality work to enjoy at home.

Workshop series includes:

  • Handbuilding (2 sessions): Explore pinch, coil, and slab techniques to create unique, personal pieces.
  • Wheel Throwing (2 sessions): Learn the basics of centring, shaping, and forming clay on the pottery wheel.
  • Paint & Glaze (2 sessions): Decorate your creations and prepare them for firing with professional glazes.

All materials, tools, and firing are included in the course fee. Each workshop builds on the last, giving participants a complete beginner-friendly introduction to pottery techniques, with each session lasting one hour.
