Ready to take your throwing to the next level?
Our Level 2 Improvers course is designed for potters who have completed a beginner course (or have equivalent experience) and can confidently centre, cone, open, pull and trim simple forms. Working in a small group, you'll refine your technique, improve consistency and begin exploring more ambitious projects with expert guidance.
Depending on your interests, you'll explore techniques such as:
• Spiral wedging
• Throwing larger forms
• Throwing off the hump
• Sectional throwing
• Handles, spouts and attachments
• Bottles, vases, lidded forms, jugs and teapots, bowls & cylinders
• Advanced trimming and fluting
• Developing greater confidence and your own creative style
With just 7 participants, there's plenty of individual tuition, demonstrations and feedback, allowing you to focus on the skills you'd most like to develop.
This course is suitable if you can already:
✔ Wedge and prepare clay
✔ Consistently centre, cone, open and pull simple bowls and cylinders
✔ Trim basic forms
If you're still learning these core skills, we'd recommend joining our Level 1 Foundations course first.
