🎄 6 Week Christmas Handbuilding Class 🎄This six-week Christmas-themed handbuilding course is designed to teach the fundamentals of handbuilt pottery while creating festive projects you'll enjoy displaying year after year.
Throughout the class, students will build a strong foundation in handbuilding while learning how to create unique seasonal pieces using a variety of techniques, including:
🎄 Pinch Pot Construction
🎄 Coil Building
🎄 Slab Building
🎄 Surface Decoration & Texture Techniques
🎄 Underglaze and Glaze Application
Students can expect to create a variety of Christmas-inspired projects such as ornaments, mugs, platters, trees, and other festive décor. While everyone will learn the same techniques, there will be plenty of opportunities to personalize projects and make them uniquely your own.
By the end of the course, you'll not only have a collection of beautiful handmade holiday pieces, but you'll also have the confidence and skills to continue creating pottery long after the holidays.
This class is beginner-friendly, and students with previous experience are also welcome. Completion of our 6 Week Handbuilding Class is required to utilize Open Studio hours.
Starts Wednesday, November 4th at 6:00 PM
Cost: $300 per person
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Attendance
Due to the progressive nature of this course, there will be no makeup classes. Each lesson builds upon the previous week's techniques, and missing a class may affect your ability to complete projects on schedule.
Project Completion
Some projects may require additional time depending on their complexity and your individual pace. Students wishing to continue working after the course ends are welcome to attend Open Studio (standard Open Studio fees apply).
If you do not plan to continue through Open Studio, please let your instructor know throughout the course so projects can be planned accordingly.
Holiday Timing
Because ceramic work requires drying time and multiple firings, pieces will be completed on a rolling schedule. While many projects should be finished before Christmas, completion dates depend on project size, drying conditions, and kiln schedules.
Breakage Policy
Clay is a natural material, and breakage can occur during drying, firing, glazing, or handling. While every effort is made to ensure the success of each piece, pottery is an inherently unpredictable medium, and occasional losses are simply part of the learning process.
The Cozy Kiln is not responsible for items that crack, warp, or break during the pottery-making process. We will always do our best to minimize risks and help every student achieve the best possible results.
🎄 Spend six cozy weeks creating meaningful handmade holiday memories, learning timeless pottery skills, and making Christmas treasures you'll look forward to bringing out year after year.
