About this Event
🏃 Every step helps a family in crisis.
When someone you love is arrested, your world stops, and most families have no idea what to do next. Our Lessons Learned was started by two Orlando mothers who got that call themselves. They built the support they wished they’d had.
Join us for our 5th Annual Charity Sport Event at Mayor Glenda Hood Park. Whether you’re chasing a 10K personal best or strolling the 2K with your family, there’s a distance for you.
For just $10, you’re helping a family find their footing with things like bail guidance, lodging near a facility, gas money to get to a hearing, or a warm meal on a hard day.
🏅 Choose Your Distance
- 10K Run/Walk – for the seasoned runner
- 5K Run/Walk – the classic community favorite
- 2K Run/Walk – perfect for families, kids, and first-timers
❤️ Why We Run
Our Lessons Learned is a caregiver-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the caregivers and families of the incarcerated. Since 2021, we’ve raised more than $15,000 to connect families to legal, bail, lodging, mental health, and spiritual support, always through real people who’ve lived it, never a call center.
Your registration says to these families: you are not alone.
