Mark Your Calendar for the 5th Annual Addison Kelly Butterfly 5K Walk/Run, a meaningful community event supporting the Addison Kelly Mental Health Education Fund, a programme of the Alex Panton Foundation. This special event brings our community together to raise awareness and funds to expand access to Mental Health First Aid and support scholarships in mental health for young Caymanians.
Registration will officially open on World Suicide Prevention Day – 10th September 2026.
The Butterfly 5K honours the life and legacy of Addison “Addi” Kelly. Addi faced significant mental health challenges from a young age, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and later borderline personality disorder. Despite her struggles, she remained incredibly positive and deeply passionate about helping others.
During her treatment, Addi dreamed of becoming a therapist or psychiatrist so she could support those experiencing similar challenges, especially in her beloved Cayman Islands. This is the impetus to creating the scholarship programme.
Tragically, on 8th February 2022, Addi lost her life to mental illness at just 16 years old.
Today, her legacy lives on through this event and the work of the fund creating a more informed, supportive community.
