The flavors, sounds, and spirit of Serbia come alive at the 53rd Annual San Diego Serbian Festival on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Bay Park. From 12 PM to 11 PM, this family-friendly celebration transforms the church grounds into a lively cultural experience filled with food, music, dance, and history. Guests arriving between 12 PM and 4 PM will receive a complimentary homemade Vanilice (Serbian vanilla cookie) while supplies last, so early arrival is recommended!

🎉 A Cultural Celebration 53 Years Strong
Marking over half a century of tradition, the festival celebrates Serbian culture through live music, authentic cuisine, folk dancing, and educational tours. Serbian heritage—rooted in Orthodox Christian faith, warm hospitality, and centuries-old traditions—is showcased in every aspect of the festival.
“The San Diego Serbian Festival is more than a celebration—it's an invitation to experience our culture, faith, and food,” said V. Rev. Bratso Krsic, parish priest at St. George. “We welcome everyone to discover the richness of Orthodox Christianity and Serbian heritage.”
🥘 Traditional Serbian Food & Drink
Festival-goers can savor iconic dishes such as:

• Cevapcici (grilled minced sausages)
• Roasted Pork and Lamb
• Sarma (stuffed cabbage rolls)
• Pita (apple and cherry pastries)
• Palacinke (Serbian crepes)

💃🏼 Folklore, Live Music, & Dancing
Traditional Serbian folklore dancing brings the stage to life featuring award-winning performers from St. George’s Morava group and visiting ensembles from across Southern California. Dancers perform traditional choreographies passed down through generations, with vibrant costumes, intricate movements, and regional traditions offering a glimpse into Serbia’s rich cultural heritage. Each performance celebrates the music, customs, and stories that have helped preserve Serbian identity across generations and around the world.
Two live Serbian bands will perform throughout the day, filling the festival with the sounds of traditional and contemporary Serbian music. From lively folk tunes to familiar favorites, the bands will provide a dynamic musical backdrop for the day’s festivities and keep the energy going into the evening.
Singing, dancing, and celebration are simply part of the experience, with guests joining in alongside the live music. As night falls, the festivities become a full-fledged Serbian-style celebration—lively, spirited, and full of music and dancing that carries on well into the night.

Families are especially welcome, with a Kids Zone featuring a playground, face painting, and fun to keep little ones entertained. Children can enjoy their own space to play, explore, and make memories while parents and grandparents take in the events happening throughout the festival. Explore displays of traditional apparel, artwork, and other cultural items, offering a glimpse into the artistry and customs passed down through generations that have shaped Serbia’s identity.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to learn about the stories and traditions behind the celebration, hear from those who have studied and preserved them, and gain a deeper appreciation for the culture that continues to connect generations of Serbian families and communities around the world.
⛪️ Tour a Living Piece of History
Built in 1952, St. George Serbian Orthodox Church is the oldest of its kind in San Diego County. It is a living piece of history as the only church in North America entirely covered in mosaic tile from floor to ceiling—a visual and spiritual landmark that draws architectural and cultural tourists year-round.
Festival-goers can tour the St. George Church for an unforgettable chance to experience the breathtaking Venetian glass mosaics that adorn the church’s entire interior.
Additionally, an actual Vespers service will be held at 6 PM, inviting guests to experience the beauty and depth of the Orthodox Christian tradition.
