About this Event
50 Shades of Brown returns for an elevated evening celebrating Black fashion, creativity, entrepreneurship, music, and community.
Hosted by Minneapolis favorite Juice Sutton, the experience begins on the signature brown-and-chocolate carpet before moving into an evening of food, live entertainment, intentional networking, a model runway, and a special performance by St. Paul hip-hop artist Juice Lord. Rooted in the historic Rondo neighborhood, Juice Lord brings soulful production, raw lyricism, and authentic storytelling to the stage.
Entrepreneurship takes center stage during The Brownprint Pitch Station, where selected business owners and entrepreneurs will present their businesses or ideas for the opportunity to win resources that help move them forward.
This year’s pitch competition will be judged by entrepreneur and community leader Issiaga Soumah; Henry Rucker, longtime real estate broker, financial coach, and founder of Banneker Realty; and Nubiah Taylor, beauty entrepreneur and founder of Minnesota’s first Black-owned cosmetology school.
Pitch Competition Prizes:
1st Place: $500 cash
2nd Place: Two complimentary hours at Studio 743 for a music session, podcast recording, professional photo shoot, or Mic Drop performance
3rd Place: Professional vehicle-detailing package from Heaven’s Touch
The evening will also feature approximately five carefully selected vendors, giving guests an opportunity to discover and support standout businesses without turning the experience into an overcrowded marketplace.
Come dressed in your interpretation of elevated brown and experience a night created to celebrate every shade of Black excellence.
