**WHAT TO EXPECT**
An immersive gala experience built on old money, family secrets, and a room full of people who all had a reason.
The Johnson Legacy Foundation has shaped Harlem for three generations. Tonight was supposed to be a celebration. An announcement. A passing of the torch. Instead, the woman at the center of it all is dead before the champagne is poured, and everyone in this room is a suspect.
Masks on. Motives hidden.
**The Reception (3:00 PM to 4:00 PM):** Arrive at Silvana and step into the gala. A live performance sets the tone as guests settle in, place their dinner orders, receive their character assignments, and begin to size each other up. Introductions and conversations occur in this segment.
**Murder at the Masquerade (4:00 PM to 7:00 PM):** The mystery begins. Every guest plays a role. Gather clues, question your fellow guests, follow the money, and unmask the killer before the night is over. The sharpest detective in the room wins a prize.
**Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**
**Q: What is a murder mystery party?**
A: It's an interactive game you play with everyone in the room. Each guest plays a character. During the night, a murder happens, and everyone works to figure out who did it by gathering clues, questioning other characters, and making their best guess before the big reveal.
**Q: Do I have to act?**
A: Only as much as you want to. There are three types of roles:
• Beginner: a lighter role with a few key details. Perfect if it's your first time.
• Intermediate: more backstory and a few secrets to keep.
• Advanced: a central character with big secrets and a lot of attention. For the players who want to go all in.
**Q: How do I get my character?**
A: After you buy your ticket, you'll get an email with the full list of characters, including each one's backstory, secrets, and who they interact with.
**Q: Will someone explain how it works?**
A: Yes. The week before the event, we'll host a Google Meet session to walk everyone through the story. We'll also email you the full story so you can get familiar with the world before you arrive. It contains no clues, so no spoilers.
**Q: Who is the killer?**
A: That's for you to figure out. The killer is one of the characters in the room, and even the person playing them doesn't know it's them.
**Q: I've never done this before. Will I be lost?**
A: Not at all. Between the character email, the story, the Google Meet session, and our hosts that night, you'll know exactly what to do.
**Q: Can I come alone?**
A: Yes, and a lot of people do. The game gets you talking to everyone in the room within minutes.
**Q: Can I come with friends?**
A: Of course. Your characters may know each other, or you may end up on opposite sides of the mystery.
**Q: What should I wear?**
A: It's a masquerade ball, so come in your sharpest suit or best gown.
**Q: Do I need to bring a mask?**
A: Yes. Masks will not be provided at the door. We'll share an Amazon link so you can grab one in advance. See masks here: [Masks on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/shop/lolajaanofficial/curation/33460690-8a58-4aa8-883f-3224038bc2d8?ccs_id=e478d30e-6266-4947-8b9d-2bd8410b4c50)
**Q: Is food and drink included?**
A: Every ticket includes a complimentary cocktail. Food and more drinks are available for purchase at Silvana.
**Q: Are there prizes?**
A: Yes, but it's all in good fun. At the end of the night, we vote together as a crew.
