Welcome to the 4th Annual Burn Symposium!
Join us for the Parkland Burn Center’s Annual Burn Symposium, a premier educational event dedicated to advancing excellence in burn care. This multidisciplinary program brings together healthcare professionals from across the continuum of care to explore the latest evidence-based practices, innovations, and clinical strategies in burn management.
Attendees will gain valuable insights through expert-led lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions covering topics such as acute burn resuscitation, wound care, critical care management, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery. The symposium will feature dedicated PT, OT, and SLP breakout sessions on Friday, with an optional therapy-focused educational track on Saturday covering evidence-based burn rehabilitation for adult and pediatric patients across the continuum of care. Saturday's sessions for PT/OT will provide in-depth education on burn rehabilitation across the continuum of care, including splinting, casting, scar management, and rehabilitation strategies for adult and pediatric burn survivors. For Speech language pathologists attending Saturday, there will be additional education on burn patient care topics such as oral/facial contracture management and impact on swallowing, inhalation injury recovery as well as case studies.
The symposium is designed to enhance clinical knowledge, strengthen decision-making skills, and promote collaboration among physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, and prehospital personnel.
