🧠 2027 Mental Health Training Conference
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This year's conference focuses on moving beyond reaction and toward prevention, resilience and recovery.
PREVENTION VS. REACTION
Building Proactive Resilience in First Responders
Throughout the day, we'll bring together first responders, mental health professionals, researchers, leaders, advocates and people with lived experience to explore practical approaches to protecting the mental health of those who serve.
Expect a day of powerful speakers, meaningful conversations, practical tools and connections that can make a difference long before a crisis occurs.
Topics will explore areas such as:
🔹 Prevention and proactive mental health
🔹 Operational stress and trauma
🔹 Building resilience before crisis happens
🔹 Early intervention
🔹 Supporting yourself and your team
🔹 Leadership and workplace culture
🔹 Recovery and long-term wellness
🔹 Breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health
This isn't just about responding when something goes wrong. It's about being better prepared before it does.

❤️ Why We Do It
AFRA believes that supporting first responders starts before the crisis.
Our goal is to bring people together, break down silos, share knowledge and help build a stronger network of support for first responders and their families.
By attending this event, you're not only investing in yourself or celebrating those who serve—you're helping AFRA continue its work supporting first responder mental health and suicide prevention initiatives across Alberta.
